Hiring of Activation Agency for Karandaaz FinTech Disrupt Challenge – Round III.

This is a request for quotation, please share your proposals for the following scope of work:

Karandaaz Pakistan wishes to hire an activation agency to implement a short but robust outreach campaign to highlight the second phase of Karandaaz FinTech Disrupt Challenge – Round III. The campaign will have various elements related to video documentation, photography, and PR. Details of these elements have been provided below in the relevant section.

With funding from BMGF, Karandaaz runs an annual FinTech Disrupt Challenge (FDC or Challenge) in Pakistan. The primary thrust of the Challenge is to work with technology driven start-ups to introduce enhancements and innovations in financial products and services (payments, credit, savings, and insurance), infrastructure, and process support for the financial technology space. The annual challenge is launched with a call to action, inviting applicants to submit their product for evaluation by Karandaaz. Short-listed teams present to a panel of judges, who select the final winners. Winning ideas are given grants for implementation. The overarching aim of the FDC is not only to identify partners who can leverage technology to rapidly narrow the financial inclusion gap in Pakistan but also to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country and create valuable linkages between innovators and the financial eco-system.

For FDC III, FinTech Factory was selected as a partner to do the incubation of the FinTechs and prepare them for the pitch day. Currently there are 10 FinTechs going through the incubation process at Karachi and Islamabad offices of FinTech Factory. This phase will document the stories of these FinTechs and the process of FDC III along with creating more equity for Karandaaz FDC brand in the sector.

This campaign should help in achieving the following two objectives:

  1. Firmly establish the FDC as a premier national competition in the FinTech space
  2. Encourage more FinTechs from across the country to apply and become part of the futre incubation programs offered by Karandaaz
  3. Highlight the innovative models being developed by current incubatees to address key bottlenecks in the financial inclusion space, namely the lack of interoperability and use cases.

 

  1. Identification of Need Analysis

This Purchase Order intends to identify and procure an “activation agency”, hereto referred to as “agency” to design, produce and implement materials and activities to generate interest in this current round of FDC III as well as promote Karandaaz and its partner brands.

 

The agency must immediately upon award acquire full understanding and command over Karandaaz and its donors and partner’s established branding and marking guidelines, and the scope of this campaign through a briefing by the Karandaaz Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC) Director or his/her designee. The agency must work closely with the Karandaaz KMC team to understand the complete scope and execute it to the best industry standards.

 

The agency must also submit all images, source files, video rushes etc. for all work done under this purchase order. Karandaaz will have exclusive and perpetual copyright of all such materials. The agency must be open to assignments with short turnaround times and multiple rounds of feedback.

The campaign is designed to contain the following activities. Also mentioned are the planned dissemination period/frequencies for each product/activity. The agency must work with Karandaaz KMC PoC to ensure that all feedback and approval process has taken place in time for each product to be ready and go live at the prescribed time.

2 Video Production

Short video testimonials of the incubatees – 2 to 3 minute each with title graphics, music, etc.

There will be approximately 10 incubatees out of which 2 will be interviewed in Islamabad and 8 in Karachi. The location for shoot will be FinTech Factory premises.

 

All video material including edited pieces as well as rushes will be provided to Karandaaz at the end of the assignment on a hard disk.

3 Photography

At least 10 high resolution photos of each interviewee (mentors as well as incubatees) at FinTech Factory –these photos should be fun and transmit the spirit of FinTech with youth, exuberance and make the incubatees and mentors look good and establish their image as front runners of the sector.

4 Video Production

One short 3-4 min video overview of FDC III and the incubation process with script, title graphics, music, etc.

This may require some additional shooting in Karachi to document the incubation process, training situations, one-on-one consultation etc and will include the testimonials.

  • There may be multiple rounds of feedback and the agency will be responsible to makes all changes as per feedback from different layers of approval at Karandaaz until the complete satisfaction and sign off by the Karandaaz Pakistan Communications PoC or his/her designee.
  • The agency will also be responsible to get a thorough creative brief from the client for each item as and when required. The agency must ask all relevant questions and gather all information that is required for it to propose most suitable options.
  • The agency will be responsible to deliver all source files produced during this campaign to Karandaaz Pakistan Communications PoC or his/her designee. Karandaaz will have exclusive and perpetual rights to all design work produced under the provisions of this Purchase Order.
