Ammar Habib has more than nine years of experience in the banking, capital markets, and energy space. Prior to joining Karandaaz, he was Head of Risk at National Investment Trust Limited (NIT), which is the largest Asset Management Company in Pakistan, where Ammar was a member of Investment Committee, managing more than PKR 100 billion of capital deployed in equity, and fixed income funds. He was Secretary of the Board Risk Management Committee, while also being Secretary of a committee formed by SECP for development of Exchange Traded Funds in Pakistan. In the energy sector, Ammar has advised on deals with ticket size in excess of USD 2 billion, working on projects ranging from coal mines, off-grid LNG, to solar lease solutions. Ammar was also part of a team managing wholesale risk, risk analytics, and credit modeling at HSBC Bank Middle East.
Ammar has completed 2 levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, while also being a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM). He has a Masters degree in Macroeconomic Policy & Financial Markets from Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, as well as an undergrad degree in business from IBA, Karachi.
