Hammad Haider
Hammad brings to the table over seven years of experience in the fields of financial services and economic research and analysis. He started his career in the banking industry, but later started pursuing his passion for economic analysis and market research when he came across BR Research, at Business Recorder. In the research analyst role, Hammad engaged with many eminent policymakers, federal ministers, corporate executives, economists, sector experts, sector regulators, chiefs of multilateral organizations, and several non-profits. Those interactions helped him form a holistic perspective on Pakistan’s policy environment, institutional landscape, its wholesale & retail markets and the economy at large. Currently, Hammad is working as a Research Consultant. With BR Research as his anchor client, he is also collaborating with independent economists and think tanks on research and consulting projects. Hammad’s passion is to improve the nature and quality of business and policy research in Pakistan. His areas of research interest include the following themes: • Sustainable development through inclusive growth • Macroeconomic stability and non-debt creating inflows (exports, remittances and FDI) • Economic corridor development • Regional connectivity through trade and investment • Large-scale manufacturing revival and value-addition in industrial sectors • Startups and digital intermediation Hammad acquired his MBA in 2016, graduating with two gold medals from Pakistan’s premier business school, the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi.
