With over 15 years of experience working in a wide range of local, regional and global development agendas, Mehr Shah is currently leading Karandaaz Pakistan's Knowledge Management & Communications portfolio. Karandaaz focuses on improving access to finance among SMEs and individuals in Pakistan, with special focus on improving provision and uptake of digital finance while making equity investments in SMEs and SME-focused financing platforms. Mehr was part of the team that worked closely with the State Bank of Pakistan to develop the regulatory framework for licensing of digital banks and is now supporting the Securities on Exchange Commission of Pakistan to develop a regulatory framework for asset fractionalization in the country. Mehr is a Fulbright scholar and holds an MBA in Finance from Syracuse University's Martin J. Whitman School of Management (USA) and a BSc (Hons.) in Economics from the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Pakistan. Mehr has a keen interest in global and local politics and was awarded the Carnegie Fellowship by the New America Foundation in Washington DC, USA in 2013 where she researched the devolution of education in Pakistan.
