Cracking E-Commerce 2.0

This whitepaper suggests government policy objectives and identifies best practices for the ECommerce industry in Pakistan. Considering stakeholders such as buyers, sellers, logistical partners, banks, chambers of commerce, government institutions and the media on the road to taking 500,000 merchants online in Pakistan. Despite burgeoning smart phone usage and accessibility of internet across Pakistan, the E-commerce Industry has a long way to go to achieve regional parity and reach for global standards. There are three bottlenecks to growth: Customer Protection, Payments (international and domestic) and Delivery. Creating a viable ecosystem necessitates confronting these issues. It is in the interest of export promotion that the government remove barriers to the international e-commerce playing field for local small and medium sized enterprises.
