Karandaaz Digital aims to catalyze the financial services industry for greater financial inclusion by employing cutting-edge innovations and digital solutions. Karandaaz Digital collaborates across the financial services ecosystem to maximize impact through improved access to digital finance for low-income, rural, and otherwise excluded population segments, especially women. Karandaaz Digital aims to work with all stakeholders to facilitate the digitization of government and other payment streams and provide support for innovative digital financial services providers/startups. The focus areas of the unit are divided into multiple work streams including Digital Transformation of Social Protection Programs, enabling them to adopt digital financial services products, processes, and services, hence significantly improving the supply side of digital financial services. Such programs span across institutions like National Savings, Benazir Income Support Program, Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Punjab Social Protection Authority, Employees Old Age Benefits Institutions, and other provincial and federal institutions.

Position Summary 

The Associate Director Digital Transformation (Social Protection) will manage the transformational projects undertaken by Karandaaz Digital in the social protection sector. The incumbent will be responsible for managing multiple projects by developing and maintaining a mutually beneficial relationship with key stakeholders, managing the end-to-end technical assistance support including procurement of vendor/services, and overseeing and steering all partners/consultants and other resources allocated for successful execution for the assigned projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, manage and steer digitalization and conditional cash transfer programs within the social protection sector.
  • Work very closely with the Head of Payments Infrastructure to find opportunities within social protection programs for enabling social disbursements via Raast.
  • Develop funding proposals, secure approvals, develop requisite partnerships with relevant social protection entities and other stakeholders, and execute the program.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to partners and other resources for successful execution.
  • Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders and leverage them for decision-making, smooth execution, and resolution of issues.
  • Develop and execute an efficient communication strategy for ensuring communication with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement team for the timely availability of resources as per the needs.
  • Develop requisite project documentation including RFPs, project progress reports, presentations, etc.
  • Any other task necessary to ensure smooth execution of all running projects

Eligibility

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Project Management from a reputable Institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in delivering projects and at least 4 years of experience in delivering large-scale digital transformation projects
  • Should have led at least one (01) large-scale digital transformation project preferably for a public sector entity
  • Experience of working for a social protection program in a similar role will be highly advantageous

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of a not-for-profit organization
  • Knowledge of donor-funded programs
  • Proficient skill in MS Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Sound ability to understand and evaluate technology solutions
  • Commands skill of work planning, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Driven and able to work independently as well as a part of a diverse team
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing demands, and establish priorities.
  • Driven and passionate for the mission and alignment with the core values of the organization
