Karandaaz Digital

Karandaaz Digital aims to catalyse the industry towards greater financial inclusion by employing cutting-edge innovations and digital solutions and has undertaken a few digital transformational projects in public sector, supporting the public organizations to develop their digital capabilities and hence benefit from the resulting efficiencies. Karandaaz now aims to work with Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP) to facilitate its digitization in three key areas. i) To help SECP deliver better transparency, speedier decision making and  ease of doing business by implementing an organization wide ERP, ii) improving analytics and policy making based on companies filling by converting them digitally using XBLR (Extensible Business Reporting Language) and iii) implementing Secure Transaction Registry (STR) that will facilitate small borrowers amongst SMEs and agri sector to secure credit from financial institutions against their movable assets under Secure Transaction Act. This support will be provided to SECP through Karandaaz.

Position Summary:

The Associate Director Projects, Digital Transformation SECP, will manage the digital transformation projects undertaken by Karandaaz for SECP. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the end to end projects including developing liaison and relationship with key stake holders in SECP, senior management in Karandaaz, DFID and managing the technical assistance support to SECP including procurement of technical systems and consulting services, overseeing and steering the teams of technical consultants and other resources allocated for project for successful execution for the assigned projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The core responsibilities include the following:

  • To lead engagement & relationship with SECP on behalf of Karandaaz for digital transformation projects of SECP
  • To lead and steer consultants to plan, design, and deliver technical assistance to SECP
  • To manage project budgets, reporting and related documentation including updates to key stakeholders including senior management at SECP, Karandaaz and DFID.
  • To develop and launch RFPs for procurement of designed IT systems including ERPs, DWH etc in collaboration with Karandaaz procurement team and successfully complete procurements.
  • To manage technology and ERP implementation vendors directly or through a consulting firm for delivery and implementation in defined scopes of quality, budgets and timelines
  • To proactively identify risks of the projects and mitigate issues head on
  • Develop close relationships with key stake holders with the client (SECP) to ensure the pace of execution and solutioning of issues

Candidate Profile

  • A senior executive with minimum 10 years of work experience in relevant field with atleast 5-6 years experience in managing large scale IT and ERP projects.
  • Experience in either working in IT/Technology in large scale organizations including regulator or authorities managing critical systems like ERP or working with top tier IT and or ERP consulting & implementing firms.
  • Experience in selecting, procuring, managing and deploying IT transformational projects including top tier ERPs, DWH and other such systems.
  • Ability to advise on choosing technology architectures and manage technology vendors
  • Experience in delivering IT transformational projects in public sector is preferable
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with stakeholders to implement technology projects
  • Driven and ability to work independently and as part of an integrated, diverse team and be comfortable in multiple, high varied settings, and tight deadlines with different work styles.
  • Passion for Karandaaz’s mission and alignment with core values
  • Bachelors / Master’s degree in business administration, engineering or project management or related discipline from a reputable international or Pakistani Institution.
