Karandaaz Digital

Karandaaz Digital aims to catalyse the financial services industry towards greater financial inclusion by employing cutting-edge innovations and digital solutions for social impact. Karandaaz Digital collaborates across the financial services ecosystem to maximize impact through improved access to digital finance for low income, rural, and otherwise excluded population segments, especially women. Karandaaz Digital aims to work with all stakeholders to facilitate digitization of government and other payment streams and provide support to innovative digital financial service startups. The focus areas of the unit are divided into multiple work streams including Digital Transformations of public entities, enabling them to adopt digital financial services products, processes and services, hence significantly improving the supply side of DFS. Such institutions include National Savings, Benazir Income Support Program and many other in pipeline.

Position Summary:

The Associate Director Projects, Digital Transformations will manage the transformational projects undertaken by Karandaaz Digital. For now, Karandaaz Digital is engaged with providing support to BISP in an IT transformation based project on a turn key basis. The incumbent will be responsible for managing the overall transformational project including developing liaison and relationship with key stake holders in BISP, managing the end to end technical assistance support including procurement of technical assistance services, and then overseeing and steering the technical consultants and other resources allocated for project for successful execution for the assigned projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The core functions and responsibilities include the following:

  • Design, plan, manage and steer IT and technology transformational projects end to end
  • Provide leadership and guidance to vendors and other resources for successful execution
  • Proactively identify risks and mitigate execution issues head on
  • Develop close relationships with key stake holders with the client (BISP) to ensure the pace of execution and solutioning of issues
  • Coordinate with Procurement for timely procurements
  • Develop requisite project documentation including RFPs, project progress reports, presentations etc.

Candidate Profile

  • Master’s degree in business administration, engineering or project management or related discipline from a reputable international or Pakistani Institution.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in leading national or multi-national companies
  • Atleast 4 years of work experience in large scale IT project management.
  • Should have led and/or direct experience of IT transformational projects including ERPs, Core Banking Solution, ADCs, Billing Platforms, data warehouse development and other such systems,
  • Ability to understand technology architectures and manage technology vendors
  • Previous experience of architecting technology stacks is preferable
  • Experience in delivering IT transformational projects in public sector is preferable
  • Stakeholder management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis and synthesis.
  • Driven and ability to work independently and as part of an integrated, diverse team and be comfortable in multiple, high varied settings, and tight deadlines with different work and learning styles.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing demands, and establish priorities.
  • Passion for the mission and alignment with core values of the organization.
