Position Summary:

Karandaaz is seeking a Senior Research Analyst in the Corporate Investment & Credit team who will be primarily responsible for supporting the CIC team in the work related to research on the equity and the credit side. The incumbent will be responsible to provide in depth analysis and forecast of the transactions undertaken by the CIC team.

Job Responsibilities

The job responsibilities of the position are as follows:

• Analyze past results and perform variance analysis conduct Primary research from industry sources and facilitate investment
• Identify trends and make recommendations for improvements
• Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization
• Create charts, graphs, and presentations for leadership teams
• Analyze historical and projected financial statements
• Collaborate with Finance and Monitoring & Evaluation to track, monitor and evaluate portfolio performance and generate impact assessment reports
• Provide research support of target industries and companies to CIO and Management
• Prepare documentation for Karandaaz’s internal processes including creating and maintain annual work plans and support in internal and external audits
• Participate in the monitoring and reporting of investments in portfolio companies
• Any other task as may be required

Candidate Profile

Education:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, specialization in finance, economics or statistics preferred including CFA

 Work experience:

• Experience at research function at top tier financial institution or brokerage (Min 3 years) with a proven track record, including experience creating financial models
• Ability to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure
• Interest in development issues and working in emerging markets
• Ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries 

Functional Skills / Knowledge Areas:

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and sound business judgment to identify issues and present creative and practical solutions
• Demonstrated teamwork skills
• Strong client service orientation with an openness to feedback and new ideas
• Excellent reporting writing and presentation skills
• Excellent proficiency in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint is required
• Strong coordination and interpersonal skills required
