Position Summary

Karandaaz Pakistan is seeking a Senior Analyst – Financial Reporting and Tax to provide support in completing the deliverables of the team which includes the coordination of internal and cross-functional financial processes and activities. The incumbent is a member of the Finance Team reporting to the Assistant Manager Finance.

Job Responsibilities

The core functions and responsibilities include the following:

  • Preparation of quarterly financial statements/condensed financials in accordance with the IFRS/IAS and Companies Act 2017;
  • Assist the line manager in both internal and external audit proceedings of the company;
  • To assist the line manager during sponsors’ annual reviews/due diligence/ periodic assessments etc;
  • To assist the line manager in analysing financial statements of associated companies and prepare various analysis based on reported data along with the determination of their post-implementation accounting/reporting impact on the balance sheet of parent company;
  • Review of monthly/quarterly profits on investments and bank deposits to ensure data accuracy;
  • Close liaising with the credit administration department to ensure timely availability of monthly financial data including principal outstanding and profit earned against credit portfolio;
  • To assist the line manager in analysing various financial instruments (including equity/debt instruments etc). with respect to their accounting treatment and presentation on the balance sheet of the company;
  • Prepare and maintain reports and documents related to SME lending portfolio;
  • Assist the line manager in data migration in Oracle Fusion;
  • To review and take corrective measures on audit reports submitted by grantees of the company;
  • Liaison with the tax advisor for submission of annual tax returns of the company and its Employees Provident Fund;
  • Assist the line manager in preparing/reviewing responses against tax notices received from the FBR;
  • Assist the line manager in monthly closing of books of accounts;
  • Any other task assigned by the line manager/Chief Financial Officer

Eligibility

  • CA (Finalist)/ ACCA Qualified with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Must have sound knowledge of the Companies Act’ 2017, Income tax Ordinance’ 2001 and International Financial Reporting and Accounting Standards applicable in Pakistan.
  • Experience of donor-funded projects will be a plus.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of reputable Financial MIS (example Oracle, Dynamics) preferred
  • In-depth knowledge/experience of the accounting cycle
  • Ability to meet targets within tight deadlines
  • Should be a result-oriented individual
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Excel and MS Word
  • Sound judgment, flexibility, adaptability and cultural sensitivity
  • A good team-player who is able to promote the spirit of joined of working at all levels.
  • Ability to represent Karandaaz Pakistan in a confident, courteous and coherent manner.
  • Demonstrated behavior of professional and personal ethics, transparency and openness.
  • Excellent English writing and presentation skills
