The Marketing and Communications team is part of the Research, Marketing and Communications (RMC) vertical of Karandaaz Pakistan. Under the supervision of Director Research, Marketing and Communications (RMC), the Marketing and Communications team extends communications, outreach, and marketing support across all verticals of Karandaaz. In addition, the team is also responsible for custodianship and promotion of the Karandaaz brand and attribution to the organization’s sponsors.

Position Summary

Senior Analyst Marketing and Communications will provide support on all aspects of marketing, communications and branding for Karandaaz Pakistan to further grow the company’s national and international profile.

Job Responsibilities

Marketing and Corporate Communications

  • Execute the Karandaaz Marketing and Communications strategy in close coordination with Director RMC
  • Play a driving role in various aspects of communications and branding for Karandaaz Pakistan, including developing and designing publications and products, company website, press releases, social media, media relations, videos, editorial and creative services, and events, etc. as and when assigned.
  • Create and lead marketing campaigns after identifying market needs; lead campaign development and execution in liaison with external agencies; and monitor KPIs set for the said campaign.
  • Plan, produce and create digital content to be used across all Karandaaz digital channels, increasing engagement with our audiences and stakeholders.
  • Develop creative ideas, suggest innovative ways of delivering digital content and keep up-to-date with the latest digital marketing trends.
  • Create graphics and edit photos, working with the internal design resource when necessary.
  • Create content such a press releases, talking points for Senior Management, presentations, memos and other drafts for internal and external communications
  • Work with Line Manager for drafting clear and standard procurement requests (TORs/SOW) for different marketing and communications mediums/services such as mass media campaigns, PR services, advertising agency services, digital media services, printing, event management, etc.
  • Work with Procurement department to onboard the most suitable vendors, contributing in evaluations when required, and effectively managing and supervising such contracts.
  • Work with contractors, suppliers and freelancers as authorized to ensure quality, relevance, aesthetics and timeliness of all tasks.

Reporting and Analyses

  • Conduct period analysis of campaigns and digital mediums to identify gaps and develop actionable items
  • Monitor, analyse and report on the performance of digital channels/activities using tools like Google Analytics, feeding back to stakeholders and using the data to inform future activities.
  • Work with the Line Manager to track and report progress of communications efforts and key progress indicators including media mentions, social media followers, website visitors, number of people accessing reports. Use this information to present key findings, analysis, insights and implications of Karandaaz’s communication portfolio.
  • Contribute to the Annual RMC work plan and assist in coordinating budgeting and spend issues with Finance department, assisting to ensure under the supervision of the Line Manager that the Communications department is meeting its targets for the financial and budgetary plans.
  • Any other task necessary to ensure the optimum performance of the Communications department

Eligibility

A preferred candidate will need to have:

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree preferably in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, new media or related discipline from a reputable institution.
  • 5 years or more of work experience in the fields of marketing and communications. Experience in managing communication and marketing duties for an organization similar to the scope and scale of Karandaaz will be preferred.
  • Experience in digital marketing and understanding of search engine optimization, and other avenues of new-age and digital/online media.
  • Experience of event management
  • Strong track record in content creation with excellent written and presentation skills
  • Strong track record in vendor management PR agencies, website agencies, social media management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attitude

  • Understanding of the financial sector and an appetite to learn more
  • Excellent skill in Microsoft Office (especially Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of working with content management systems and site platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact.
  • Intermediate knowledge of one or more design software
  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Excellent writing, proof-reading, editing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent ability to analyze and synthesize information/report findings and present it using appropriate frameworks (infographics, insights, newsflashes, etc.)
