Karandaaz Digital encompassing Digital Financial Services (DFS) aims to catalyze the financial services industry towards greater financial inclusion by employing cutting-edge innovations and digital solutions for social impact. Karandaaz collaborates across the financial services ecosystem to maximize impact through improved access to digital finance for low-income, rural, and otherwise excluded population segments, especially women. With funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Karandaaz Digital aims to work with all stakeholders to facilitate the digitalization of government and other payment streams and provide support to innovative digital financial service startups.

Position Summary

KRN DFS has initiated and completed many engagements in both public and private sectors that include infrastructure development, policy creation, experiments, and pilots. The incumbent on this position will be responsible to work along with the Group Head for DFS Projects to create a pipeline of projects as per the impact objectives of the organization and create potential projects for KRN DFS. The incumbent will manage the grant-based projects with private sector partners, ensure effective coordination with the Grantees for timely delivery of project and committed impact and report project updates.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify potential partners, evaluate opportunities for partnerships, and create a pipeline.
  • Assist with creation of projects, identifying scope, timelines, cost, and budget.
  • Research on new developments in the financial ecosystem and assist in creation of developmental thematic areas.
  • Manage and operationalize projects, ensuring control on timeline, objectives, and impact tracking.
  • Ensure effective coordination with the partners in order to deliver the committed impact.
  • Ensure compliance with approved business processes as prescribed in the DFS Operational Manual.
  • Support various audit activities and provide timely information for reviews.
  • Manage project budgets, reporting, and documentation updates for stakeholders including senior management, partners, and donors.
  • Demonstrate passion for KRN mission and alignment with core values.
  • Undertake additional tasks to optimize the performance of the team.

Eligibility

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution in a relevant discipline such as, but not limited to, Project Management, Business, Economics, Information Technology etc.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in a relevant field. Demonstrated experience with project management in the DFS space will be preferred.
  • Experience of creating high quality supporting documentation such as concept papers, business cases, funding narratives etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of the DFS ecosystem and an appetite to learn more
  • Passion for driving financial inclusion through innovation and experimentation in Pakistan
  • Excellent business writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated skill in budget planning, monitoring, controlling, and reporting.
  • Must be self-driven with the ability to work and deliver in a diverse team.
  • Ability to assess the viability and impact of a project idea and provide recommendations on the most promising project to be pursued.
  • Ability to adopt an innovative and solution-oriented approach towards the efficient and effective execution of ongoing projects
