Position Summary

The incumbent will provide necessary support to the Head of Risk & Compliance in implementing risk management strategy for Karandaaz.

Job Description

The incumbent will assist the Head of Risk and Compliance in following activities;

  • Implementation of risk management strategy for Karandaaz
  • Execution of the corporate compliance, fraud, and risk assessments by identifying key risks pertaining to credit, equity, market, operational, and other areas.
  • Preparation of relevant risk reports
  • Identification of external risks and creating a risk mitigation plan
  • Monitoring and assessment of Early Warning Signals for each function and its exposure
  • Review of compliance requirements from various audits and agreements with partners
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and local regulations
  • Any other task necessary to ensure the optimum performance of the Risk & Compliance department

Eligibility

A preferred candidate will need to have:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related discipline from a reputable international or Pakistani institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a Financial Institution. Cross-functional experience in credit, and equity functions is preferred.
  • Exposure to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) programs is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Understanding of a not-for-profit organization
  • Understanding of the financial sector and an appetite to learn more
  • Knowledge of Banking and Lending related regulatory requirements and laws in Pakistan
  • Understanding of equity markets, and associated instruments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite
  • Understanding of Data Analytics, and associated tools, such as Python, R, etc.
  • Should be comfortable with working with large swathes of data
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team player with a self-starter attitude
  • Should show initiative
  • Should be a result-oriented individual
  • Ability to meet targets within tight deadlines
  • Sound judgment, flexibility, adaptability and cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated behaviour of professional and personal ethics, transparency and openness.
  • Ability to react to stressful situations with professionalism
